Setting up zero-knowledge end-to-end encryption (E2EE)

How Reminda encrypts your notes on your device before they ever touch cloud servers.

Your privacy is fundamental. Reminda uses military-grade AES-256-GCM client-side encryption. This means your text, memories, and flashcards are encrypted locally on your phone or browser using secret keys derived from your passphrase.

Key security guarantees:

1. Zero server visibility: Not even Reminda engineers or cloud databases can read your plaintext data.
2. Local key derivation: Encryption keys never leave your device unencrypted.
3. Multi-device sync: Device session keys allow seamless encrypted sync across iOS, Android, and Web.

Important: Keep your secret key recovery phrase backed up safely. Because Reminda is zero-knowledge, we cannot reset your passphrase if lost!
